Several months ago while at a wine club dinner one of the members Dr. Cate Vieregger performed some basic balance, flexibility and strength tests naturally as well as with just a Pen positioned in my mouth to correctly position my jaw.
Of course skepticism was at an all time high nothing so simple could actually work and why had I never heard of this before.
I spent the next few weeks researching the product and couldn't wait to be fitted.
On March 25 I went to Cate's new office:
Vibrance Comprehensive Dentistry
7400 E. Crestline Circle, Suite 320
Greenwood Village, Colorado 80111
Phone: 303 770-1116
I also had the good fortune of having Dr. Joseph Andary assist with my fitting, of course nothing I ever do is easy, he said I was one of the harder fittings he had ever performed.
The fitting started with me relaxing in the dentist chair with a few sensors connected to my jaws and the back of my neck with an electric pulse every some many seconds.
I set in the chair for 40 mins before moving into the other room and being connected to a computer and having a rather strange apparatus used to assist in my proper jaw alignment.
After creating over 8 test molds with my jaw in different positions, I was beat and went home for a while then off to Del Frisco's and sitting at the bar along with my friend Jack was Cate and Joseph an amazing few hours talking about the benefits of the Agility Guard and just tons for information and examples from other customers. I was sold and couldn't wait for mine to arrive.
April 20th my Trophy Agility Guards arrived and I couldn't wait to try them out.
April 21, 30 minute Swim which I am not sure could get any worse I felt there was some improvement, next to the bike I was spinning away 5AM and felt wow either I am very tired or something as my legs were burning and I had just started. I then realized that my HR was low and I had the cycle cranked down over 1 turn more than normal. I noticed 10 BPM less this lasted for the duration of my ride.
I have not been running much as I had a mild shin splint so i started out at 6MPH and my HR was once again below the zone I upped the speed to 6.7 in order to hit the proper HR zone, great 3 mile run.
April 22nd was very excited to how the Agility Guard performed during Strength training, I was also a little skeptical as I was out the night before celebrating Bill's 51st birthday.
I started out with stretching, abs and a little yoga before some plyometric jump ups I started off with 10 panels and went all the way up to 14 which is 4 more than I have ever done before and usually my HR spikes at 160ish today it peaked at 155 during all 3 sets of 10.
A 2 mile run, I actually did not see any really change today in my HR during the run portion of my routine.
Strength training I felt amazing, very strong great form and I had a few reps to many of my sets. I have been doing this routine for the last 3 months and have had nearly zero soreness afterwards. I finished stretched and felt great. I woke up the next day and was very sore very I contribute this to a much harder focused work out.
While this was only my second day I was very happy and will continue to document any improvements to all of aspects of my training routine. (can't wait to ride my MTN bike)
April 23rd - After a few stretches and Ab work I proceeded again for the plyometric jump ups very happy again 15 pylons ;-)
I ran for a hour keep my HR within the proper zone I used the soft guard today verse the hard one and didn't notice a big drop in my HR.
